Former Minister of Environment and Gender of Chile

A distinguished Chilean commercial engineer, entrepreneur, and former politician. She served as the Minister of the Environment and was previously the Minister Director of the National Women’s Service (Sernam). Currently, Schmidt is active on the boards of WWF USA, CAP S.A., ENGIE, and Imagina, and serves as the President of the Chile Nature Fund. Her extensive work in environmental policy and gender equality has earned her multiple recognitions as one of the “100 Women Leaders.”

A transformative leader in sustainable finance. Under her guidance, Grupo Herdez issued $3,000 million MXN in sustainability-linked bonds on the Mexican Stock Exchange. Recognized for seamlessly integrating sustainability into the business model, Andrea has led a robust sustainability strategy aligned with key Sustainable Development Goals, including Gender Equality and Climate Action. Andrea also made history as the first Latin American woman to join the CFO Coalition for the SDGs by the UN Global Compact.

The Corporate Governance Officer for Latin America and the Caribbean at IFC. Her role involves developing regional initiatives and representing Latin America in global practice groups within the Corporate Governance Department. Prior to IFC, Magdalena achieved extensive experience in the private sector, engaging directly with C-level executives and key stakeholders. Additionally, Magdalena is a visiting professor at CESA and coordinates IGCLA’s efforts to train board members at the highest level across the region.

A leader of renewable hydrogen projects across Latin America, building on her robust experience in renewable energy development since 2015. Her international career in the energy sector is distinguished by her involvement in initiatives such as the Calama Wind Farm, which marked the onset of ENGIE’s renewable initiatives in Chile. She is the Vice President of the Chilean Hydrogen Association, a founding member of the Association of Women in Renewable Energy in Mexico, and serves as an Ambassador for Women in Energy. Asunción also contributes as a mentor for Inspiring Girls Chile.

Inventor of Tree Planting Drone Technology, former NASA engineer

Oxford PhD and former NASA engineer turned environmental technology entrepreneur, renowned for inventing tree planting drone technology through his ventures, Beta Earth and Regenerative Venture Studio. His work aims to combat global deforestation by revolutionizing the way we restore natural landscapes, now shifting towards realigning global supply chains to reduce wood consumption in consumer products. Over two decades of experience at NASA and Lockheed Martin, working on the Space Shuttle, International Space Station, and Mars exploration programs.

An explorer, oceans advocate, and storyteller, is the co-founder and President of Oceans 2050. Additionally, she serves as a Senior Adviser to Oceana, the largest international organization dedicated solely to ocean conservation. Recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, Cousteau is part of a unique community committed to shaping the global future. She was also an Emerging Explorer with the National Geographic Society. Furthermore, she founded and led Blue Legacy International, promoting watershed-first thinking to inspire water conservation and restoration worldwide.
